Andrew Gyopar, better known as Andrew G, is a Melbourne-based theatre producer, creative director and presenter whose work spans live performance, media and community engagement.
With a career that began in radio in the early 1990s, Andrew has become a well-known voice in the Australian arts scene, recognised for his fresh approach to theatre-making, his commitment to nurturing talent and passion for inclusive storytelling.
THEATRE PROJECTS:
Andrew is the Founder and Executive Producer of AG Theatre, an independent production company that produces bold, audience-focused musical theatre.
AG Theatre’s inaugural season included the Green Room Award nominated show, The Three Little Pigs in 2024/25 and the sell-out season of the cult musical Avenue Q 2025.
THEATRE PROJECTS:
Alongside his commercial work, Andrew also leads Theatrical Inc, a not-for-profit independent theatre group that is focused on access, inclusion and community.
Theatrical’s recent productions include American Idiot, The Sound of Music and Freaky Friday. Theatrical also offers education and outreach programs to help young people and emerging artists gain tangible experience and confidence within the arts.
Outside the rehearsal room, Andrew is the host of SHOWTIME with Andrew G, a podcast and video series featuring conversations with performers, directors, educators and other creative leaders.
His other media work also includes TheTheatre.au, a growing digital platform featuring news, reviews, interviews and editorial content for theatre fans and makers. In 2025 Andrew opened Studio Melbourne in Windsor, a rehearsal and podcast space that provides local artists with a flexible, affordable place to develop their work.
